1 million euro saved a Real Madrid midfielder from a verdict
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has avoided a conviction and possible imprisonment in Spain. El Mundo argues that the Croatian has admitted his guilt in accusation of tax evasion of income from his image rights and has agreed to pay about EUR 1 million to the Spanish treasury. In November, the tax authorities accused him of failing to declare revenue of € 870,728 from two fiscal years – 2013 and 2014.
The amount is about EUR 1 million because it includes accrued interest and a possible fine.
In principle, his case had to be looked at today, but if El Mundo’s information is true, then the case is over.
As is known, the same problems, but in far greater size, there is Cristiano Ronaldo. The winner of the Golden Ball, however, is not found guilty of accusing him of hiding 15m euros.
