Burnley – Liverpool
The European champion Liverpool travels to the Turf Moor to face Burnley with only one idea in mind – to keep the first place in the standings. Let’s see what’s going on with these two teams in our English Premier League predictions.
Liverpool are leading the standings in the Premier League with a perfect record of 9 points after the first three rounds. Last season the Reds lost a really close title race with Manchester City, but now Jurgen Klopp’s boys have only one idea in mind – to win the title for a first time since 1990.
A week ago Liverpool hosted Arsenal at the Anfield and dominated the game, winning it with 3-1. The central defender Joel Matip opened the score in the end of the first half, while Mohamed Salah showed some inspiration after the halftime break, scoring twice. Lucas Torreira scored for Arsenal, but this didn’t matter much at the end.
Liverpool continue to be without the services of their number one goalkeeper Alisson, who is going to be replaced by Adrian once again.
Burnley are without a win in their last two games in the Premier League. In the previous round Sean Dyche’s boys had a tough visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux, but managed to win a point. Ashley Barnes scored for the visitors, but the Wolves saved the point with a very late penalty kick, executed by Raul Jimenez.
During the week Burnley got eliminated from the League Cup. The Clarets hosted Sunderland at the Turf Moor, but conceded a 1-3 defeat. Jay Rodriguez opened the score for the hosts, but everything went wrong after this.
That’s our English Premier League predictions for the game between Burnley and Liverpool. Usually it’s very difficult to win at the Turf Moor, so we shall see how Liverpool will approach this game. It’s going to be interesting.
