Italy has appointed the breeder … for now
Italy’s former mentor, Luigi Di Biagio, takes over the men’s team of “Azzurri”. The decision of the Italian Football Federation is temporary – Gigi will lead the “squadra” in the upcoming friendly matches against Argentina and England.
The former midfielder of Roma and Inter stands in place of Gian Piero Ventura, who was sacked after disgrace in the fall, when four times world champions lost barrage for World Cup 2018 in Sweden. Italy will miss the World Cup for the first time since 1958.
Di Biagio has accepted to lead the team to a meeting with interim President Roberto Federation Fabrichini and his deputy, Alessandro Costacurta, with whom are members of Mondial’98. Roman will debut at the helm of “squadra azzurra” against “los gauchos” 23 March “Etihad Stadium” in Manchester. March 27 is the Wembley match against England.
