Norway hosts the Faroe Islands

Norway hosts the Faroe Islands in Oslo in a match from Group F of the European qualifiers. We will discuss this fixture in our football tips tonight. Let’s go!

Norway are currently fourth in this group with 11 points won so far. The Lions have lost just once in the group so far, but their chances of finishing higher were seriously hurt with the three consecutive draws they did in the last three matches against Sweden, Spain and Romania.

In the previous round of the qualifying stage Norway travelled to face Romania, but only achieved a point after a 1-1 draw in Bucuresti. The visitors were pretty close to actually losing the game, but Alexander Sorloth managed to equalise in the 92th minute. Before him Alexandru Mitrita have opened the score for Romania.

Norway’s only loss in the group so far came against the big favourite Spain. It’d be sad for them if they don’t qualify for the Euro 2020 with just one loss suffered, but they also made a lot of draws in the campaign – 5.

The Faroe Islands are currently 5th in the group with 3 points, being ahead of the 6th Malta. These two teams have the same amount of points, but the Faroe Islands are ahead because of better head-to-head stats.

Faroe Islands’ first win in the group came against Malta in the previous round. Lars Olsen’s boys managed to achieve a 1-0 win, thanks to the goal of Rogvi Baldvinsson in the 71th minute. Bryne’s defender executed an assist from Brandur Olsen and put the ball in the net.

That’s our football tips tonight for the European qualifier between Norway and the Faroe Islands on Friday. We expect to see the Scandinavians fully motivated to take the three points here, because it’s important for them to do it.
