The British police provided security to Michael Oliver

British police have provided security to football referee Michael Oliver after the threats to social networks against him and his wife, media reported in the country. Oliver scored a controversial penalty for Real Madrid and gave a red card to Gianluigi Buffon in the added time of the Champions League quarter-final against Juventus, and Cristiano Ronaldo did not make a mistake on the white point and sent Real to the semifinals of the tournament.

Oliver’s decision unleashed a wave of dissatisfaction with him. His wife’s phone was posted on social networks, and insults and threats came to both of them.

Police have said threats can be considered a crime and their authors should be held accountable.
