Zlatko Dalić: There is time to acclimate to the heat in Sochi
Croatia’s winner Zlatko Dalić is pleased that the team will arrive earlier in Sochi in order to have time to acclimate to the high humidity and heat in the Black Sea city before the quarterfinals against Russia’s host of World Cup 2018.
“We are expecting a tough match against Russia, they have proven that they can oppose the big ones in the match against Spain, and we have five days to get used to the high temperatures and humidity in Sochi.” The decision to travel to Sochi right after the victory over Denmark was right, Dally said.
He still does not know whether he will be able to rely on midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who suffered a shoulder injury during the match against Denmark.
“Kovacic has injured his shoulder, but he did not want to get out of the match with Denmark and asked to let him play, and we will see what the situation is and whether I can count on him for the match with Russia,” Dalih said.
